The expression “Private Banker” does not
mean the same as the term "private bank", a term now frequently
used by various bodies wishing to manage your assets. This is frequently
referred to as "private banking", however in Switzerland
the term "Private Banker" refers to a specific definition
under Swiss Banking Law. The specific status of “Private Banker” means
that within the bank there is at least one partner with unlimited liability
for the bank's commitments. Under Swiss law only those who meet the
specific and stringent requirements of being a “Private Banker” are
entitled to use the name. A “Private Banker” is an exclusive
and exceptional person or Bank; a “private bank” is not
necessarily the same. True "Private Bankers" are independent,
discreet, masters of their expertise; combining tradition and unconventionality;
being conservative and yet progressive. The Private Banker is both
banker & entrepreneur, personally entirely committed, since he
assumes personal liability to the full extent of his business & personal
assets. True private bankers are the bankers to the world. All the
Banks we deal with are of impeccable quality and are supervised by
the Swiss Federal Banking Commission but we point out the distinction
to highlight that not all Banks are the same.
